Meal Plans Can Set You Up for Success Throughout the Week

When it comes to sticking to your goals, whether for health, fitness, or simply saving time and money, meal planning is a game-changer. A well-thought-out meal plan can help you stay on track, avoid impulse decisions, and make healthy choices more convenient.

Meal planning is not just about choosing what you'll eat; it's about setting yourself up for success. Here’s why:

  1. Prevents Last-Minute Stress: When you have your meals planned, you eliminate the daily guesswork. No more rushing to figure out what's for dinner or scrambling through the pantry at the last minute. This helps reduce stress and ensures you're never caught off guard.
  2. Saves Time: Planning ahead means you’re not wasting time each day figuring out meals or running to the store for ingredients. With your grocery list set, you can efficiently shop for the week’s needs, saving you hours of decision-making.
  3. Promotes Healthier Choices: When you have a plan, you're more likely to choose nutritious, balanced meals rather than grabbing or ordering food out of convenience. A meal plan makes it easier to focus on nourishing your body with the right nutrients.
  4. Budget-Friendly: Meal planning helps you avoid impulse buys, which can rack up your grocery bill. It also helps in avoiding food going to waste, lost and forgotten in the fridge and pantry. By planning meals around sales and what's in season, you can save money while still eating well.
  5. Increases Consistency: When you plan your meals, you're more likely to stay consistent with your eating habits. Whether you're focusing on weight loss, gaining muscle, or just improving your overall health, consistency is key. A meal plan provides structure for your week, helping you stay on track even when life gets busy.

In the end, meal planning isn’t just about what you eat, it’s about setting yourself up for a successful, stress-free week where your goals feel more achievable. So why not take a little time today to plan for the success you want tomorrow? Your future self will thank you.

Here is a favorite dish that comes together in 30 minutes and covers all your main food groups:

  • Serve Meatballs with a side of Quinoa for a high protein substitute to pasta and green beans steamed with minced garlic and olive oil. Top with your favorite marinara sauce. This dish prepares 5-7 servings depending on the size of your meatballs. It reheats well and is amazing even cold!

Turkey Meatballs:

Ingredients:

· 2 pounds ground turkey 93% lean

· 1 cup bread crumbs or panko or rolled oats

· 2/3 cup onion minced

· 1/2 cup fresh parsley minced or 1/2tsp dried parsley

· 2 large eggs

· 3 cloves garlic minced or 1tbsp pre-minced garlic

· 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

· 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

· 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

· Salt and black pepper to taste

To make the meatballs:

· In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, eggs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper.

· Using a strong spatula or your hands, mix well. Shape the mixture into equal 1-inch balls. Uniform size will help create an even cooking time.

To bake the meatballs:

· Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. Coat with nonstick spray and set on prepared baking sheet.

· Arrange meatballs on sheet and bake until browned with crispy edges, about 15 to 20 minutes (an internal thermometer should read 165 degrees.
